Former Senate Minority Leader and ex-Deputy Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Olujimi, has dismissed the possible emergence of Labour Party (LP) 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, as Nigeria’s president in 2027, saying he is not a threat to President Bola Tinubu.

She made this known on Thursday, when featuring on popular Channels Television programme, ‘Politics Today’.

According to the one time Ekiti State number two citizen, Obi’s “rhetoric”, which played a major role in his performance in the 2023 presidential election, will not work during the 2027 polls.

She argued that the former Anambra State governor must come up with another strategy to win, adding that Tinubu understands Nigeria’s  political “terrain well.”

Speaking during the interview, Olujimi said, “The rhetoric of the last election will not work again, except he comes with another gimmick. And you see, this (Tinubu) is a politician, a man who knows the terrain well.”

She went on to say it’s almost impossible to defeat the incumbent president in 2017 given his political experience.
