Former National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has assumed his role as the Chairman of the Board of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
This was made known on Wednesday, while the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, was inaugurating the newly constituted FAAN board members in Abuja
The inauguration of the board follows the earlier appointment of the ex-Kano State governor in January 2025 by President Bola Tinubu.
The board comprises eight members, drawn from the Ministry of Aviation, Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Defence, and also includes the Managing Director/CEO of FAAN.
It would be recalled that Ganduje had, about two weeks ago, stepped down from his role as the APC National Chairman, citing health reasons.
His resignation came amid strong speculations that President Tinubu is working behind the scenes to bring Ganduje’s longtime rival, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, into the APC fold ahead of the 2027 general elections.
