Ex-SGF, Babachir Lawal dumps APC, keeps mum on next move

Babachir Lawal, however, said he is planning to join other Nigerians to work towards making the country a better place.

Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Babachir Lawal has left the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

He made his decision to resign from the party know in a statement he personally signed and made available to journalists.

The Adamawa state-born politician tendered his resignation through the chairman of his party in Bangshika Ward, Hong Local Government Area of the state. 

He, however, did not disclose his new political affiliation, saying he would make public his next move in due course.

He added that he plans to join other Nigerians to work towards making the country a better place. 

Lawal said, “I write to formally notify you of my resignation from the the All Progressives Congress, APC.

“In due course, I will make public my current political affiliation, where I plan to join compatriots to work towards making Nigeria a better living place for all citizens. This resignation takes immediate effect.

“Please remain blessed and extend my warm regards to members of your party.”

Babachir Lawal served as the SGF under former president Muhammadu Buhari in his first term.
