Arsenal winger, Bukayo Saka has identified French Ligue 1 champions, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) as the toughest team he and his teammates have faced this season.
The England international made this known while discussing Arsenal’s Champions League return leg against PSG in Paris on Wednesday.
Recall that the Gunners defeated PSG 2-0 when both sides met in the group stage of the ongoing Champions League.
However, it was the French side who defeated Arsenal 1-0 when they met in the semi-final first leg tie at the Emirates Stadium a few days ago.
Speaking on the return leg of the European encounter, Saka noted that Arsenal have faced several tough teams this season both in the Premier League and in the Champions League, but added that PSG is the toughest they have faced so far.
He went on to say the Parisians make their opponents run a lot during matches, stressing that they have several threats upfront.
“100% they were like a different team. I know they only changed two players from the line-up against us previously but how much cohesion they have, how they flow, how they move the ball they were a lot better and they impressed me to be fair,” Saka told SKy Sports (via Metro).
Asked if PSG were the toughest team Arsenal had faced, he continued: “I would say so probably yes. They have a lot of threat up at the top end of the pitch and I think in the midfield as well they keep the ball really well and try and make you run.
“I don’t think anyone likes to run if I’m honest.”
