Okowa exudes faith in AFN scorecards, seeks delegates votes for second term in Asaba

The Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) President Chief Tonobok Okowa has thrown his cap into the ring as he confirms desire for re-election as president of the Federation this month in Asaba, Delta State.

Okowa in a press release on Thursday in Agbor, Delta State recounted his first term achievement as president of the Federation and pleaded to delegates to re-elect him in the forthcoming election in May 31st, 2025.

According to him, Okowa’s first term feat include getting most Athletes into schools in the United States of America and attending competitions where Nigerian athletes won medals in Africa.
He promised that if re-elected, it would give him more opportunity to add to his numerous score cards as AFN President.


He however acknowledged his opponents for AFN top job and commended them for joining the race. He concluded that the Elections Guides, when released by the National Sports Commission (NSC) will determine the candidates that would contest the election.
