Nationalist and elder statesman, Pa Ayo Adebanjo, will be laid to rest in his hometown of Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, on May 3, 2025.
Ayotunde Ayo-Adebanjo, Adeola Azeez and Obafemi Ayo-Adebanjo announced this in a statement on Monday on behalf of the family.
According to the statement, the funeral proceedings will begin with a day of tributes and service of songs at Harbour Point, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The burial ceremony will take place on Friday, starting with a wake at Adebanjo’s country home in Isanya Ogbo, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State. This will be followed by the interment and a reception for guests at his country home.

A thanksgiving service is scheduled for May 4 at St. Phillips Anglican Church, Isanya Ogbo, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, beginning at 10 am.
The family called on friends, relatives, political and business associates and the general public to offer prayers and support to ensure a fitting farewell.
The statement read, “We covet your prayers for the family and your professional support as we continue with preparations to give him a most befitting burial. We also look forward to your esteemed presence at all the events. Please accept the assurances of our highest regards.”
