Ndigboamaka hails release of Ezeigbo Fred Nwajagu

Ndigboamaka Progressive Markets Association, umbrella body of major markets in Lagos, has congratulated Eze Ndigbo of Ajao Estate, Frederick Nwajagu, on his release by the court.

Lagos High Court sitting at Race Course on Wednesday discharged and acquitted Nwajagu of terrorism charges.

The markets association, in a statement on Thursday by its president Chinedu Ukatu, said: “This verdict is a testament to the tireless efforts of human rights advocates, legal experts, our great Association and supporters worldwide who have campaigned for his release.

“Chief Fred Nwajagu has dedicated his life to fighting for the rights and fair play on his community and the nation, often in the face of overwhelming adversity, though his statement was misunderstood.

“We appreciate the courts which really rekindled our hope that indeed courts are the last hope of common man. We also thank Lagos State Government for their understanding and we sue for peace going forward.

“While we celebrate this victory, we recognize that the struggle for justice, fair play is an ongoing issue and sue for understanding and restrain for all going forward.

“Once again, we commend His Lordship of Lagos High Court Race Course for upholding the principles of justice and human rights. This decision reinforces our faith in the rule of law and the power of the judiciary to protect the rights of all individuals.”
