Police hunting for lovers who allegedly stabbed Chinese man to death for unknown reason

Police are hunting for a man named Jonah and his unidentified girlfriend for allegedly stabbing Chinese national Chen Wang to death in Ogun.
State Police Command spokesperson Omolola Odutola disclosed in Abeokuta that Wang, 33, an expatriate and manager of Fujiada Electronics Technology, was allegedly killed in his office around midday on January 12.
She said Akosile Akinsanmi, the manager of the company located along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, reported the incident to the Ogere Police Division shortly after it occurred.
Her words: “The company’s manager stated that at around noon on January 12, during the workers’ break, a man named Jonah, whose last name is unknown, along with his unidentified girlfriend, both of whom are still at large, entered the office of Chen Wang, a 33-year-old Chinese national, and fatally stabbed him.
“Detectives from the Ogere Police Division conducted a scene investigation, during which photographs of the deceased were taken. The body has been transferred to the Babcock University Teaching Hospital for a postmortem examination.
“A preliminary investigation is ongoing, and the case will soon be handed over to the SCID for a more detailed inquiry.”
Wife stabs husband to death for accusing her of adultery
Ogun police had earlier announced that they are on a case of a young wife who stabbed her husband of eight years to death for allegedly accusing her of adultery despite having two children between them.
An eyewitness disclosed that Iyanu Adedeji, 22, and Funsho Jimoh, 28, had an argument in their home in the Ghonogun area of Abeokuta when he accused her of extramarital affairs.
“In the process of the fight,” the source said, Mrs Iyanu, inflicted a wound on her husband’s chest with a domestic knife.
“She rushed him to the Federal Medical Centre, Idi-Aba, where the doctor on duty confirmed him dead.”
Odutola confirmed the incident as well as the detention of the suspect.
She disclosed that Iyanu reported herself to the Divisional Police Station in the area after the tragedy.
“On December 30, 2024, at about 12:15pm, one Iyann Adedeji, a 22-year-old female residing at No. 3 Ifelodun Street, Unity Estate, Gbonagun, reported to the police station with a vehicle containing the body of her husband, Azeez Funsho Jimoh, a 28-year-old male who also lived at the same address,” Odutola said.
“According to her, the deceased was her husband of eight years, with two children, one of whom is deceased.
“She stated that the deceased accused her of having an extramarital affair, leading to a physical altercation between them that morning. During the scuffle, the suspect allegedly inflicted a wound on the deceased’s chest with a domestic knife.
“Afterward, she rushed him to the Federal Medical Centre in Idi Aba, where medical professionals pronounced him dead.
“The suspect is currently in custody. Detectives visited the scene of the incident and recovered the knife.
“A preliminary investigation is underway, and the case will soon be handed over to the SCID for a more thorough investigation.”
Odutola quoted the state Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, as urging couples to avoid heated arguments and instead seek peaceful ways to resolve conflicts in their relationships.
