Chelsea boss, Enzo Maresca, has thrown his weight behind the decision of his winger, Mykhailo Mudryk to travel and watch the heavyweight boxing bout between Ukrainian boxer, Oleksandr Usyk and British opponent, Tyson Fury.

According to the Blues’ gaffer, Mudryk
needed to “disconnect” from football, as he awaits the outcome of a Football Association (FA) investigation into a failed drugs test.

The Chelsea forward was recently   suspended provisionally by the British football league governing body after returning a positive “A” sample in October.

Although the 23-year-old denied the allegation  saying he is “shocked” by the news and “has never knowingly used any banned substances”, he is expected to be out of action until he is cleared of wrongdoing.

He faces a very long ban if eventually found guilty by the FA.

However, despite his predicament, Mudryk was spotted at the ringside as his compatriot, Usyk defeated Fury in a boxing heavyweight title rematch on Saturday through a unanimous decision.
