Uchechi, wife of pro-Biafra agitator, Nnamdi Kanu, has described reports that her husband authorized a group claiming to be the political wing of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) to open negotiations with the Nigerian government on the future of South East Nigeria as false.
Speaking via her X page, she said the splinter group popularly known as IPOB-PW consists of “faceless” people who are not authorized to speak for Kanu.
The group recently claimed the IPOB leader gave the directive to discuss with the FG through proxy meetings with people who spoke with him in detention.
Spokesman of IPOB-PW, Emereonye Nwachukwu, said the move followed recently pronouncement by Minister of State, Foreign Affairs, Mrs Bianca Ojukwu, that the President Bola Tinubu-led government has plans to free Kanu.

Reacting to the development, Uchechi said the group is a hoax, adding that IPOB is one indivisible entity.
She tweeted, “@Independent Who are these faceless fools? What is and who are the people behind this sham called IPOB-PW?
“Be aware that IPOB – PW is a hoax and does not speak for #NnamdiKanu or #IPOB.
“#IPOB does not have any other branch. It is only one #IPOB all over the world – One Family.
“#NnamdiKanu has said it in court but one of the traits of the wicked which is being daft, does not allow them to reason.
“The faceless buffoons behind this IPOB-PW should know they have failed. Ndị ara”
