Appeal Court President Justice Dongban-Mensen declares 40th FHC judges’ conference open, commends C.J. for giant strides

The President of Court of Appeal , Hon.Justice Monica Dongban-Mensen has commended the Chief Judge of Federal High Court of Nigeria Justice John Terhemba Tsoho for the giant strides recorded by the Federal High Court in recent times.
Such achievements include ensuring adherence to rule of law, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness in justice delivery amongst others.

The appellate court president said that justice is not a privilege for the few but a right for all based on equity and fairness.

Having commended the achievements made by the Federal High Court, Justice Dongban-Mensem officially declared the conference open.

While declaring the conference open, Justice Dongban-Mensem” I Justice Dongban-Mensen, President, Court of Appeal with the privilege and honour, declare 40th annual judges conference of Federal High Court open “

Earlier in his speech at the opening ceremony, the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice John Terhemba Tsoho gave a brief information on how the judge’s conference began. He said that the Hon Justice F.O. Anyaegbunam ( of blessed memory) initiated the annual convergence of the judges when he saw the need for judges to discuss the challenges pertaining to their judicial and administrative functions

“He hosted in his capacity as the then Chief Judge, the inaugural conference in 1984 and three more before his eventual retirement in 1987”.

” We therefore remember on this occasion, his pioneering efforts and we pledge to keep the flag flying” says Justice Tsoho.
