The Foxes also announced that first-team coach Ben Dawson will take over training imminently.

“Men’s first team training will be overseen by first team coach Ben Dawson, supported by coaches Danny Alcock and Andy Hughes, as the club begins the process of appointing a new manager, which we hope to conclude as soon as possible,” the statement read.

Chelsea survived a late Leicester rally on Saturday to win 2-1 on Enzo Maresca’s return to the King Power Stadium, moving just a point behind second-placed Manchester City.

With the result, Leicester City are now  16th in the Premier League after 12 games.
