Bwala insists he’s not a newcomer in APC, says he was just away for seven months

Bwala also alleged that most of the attacks he got after accepting to serve under President Tinubu’s government were sponsored

Newly appointed Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Media and Public Communication, Daniel Bwala has insisted that he is not just joining the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The former aide to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) 2023 presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar made this known on Monday while fielding questions on Channels Television’s programme ‘Politics Today’.

According to Bwala, he is now a newcomer in APC and was only away from the party for just seven months.

He made the clarification amid backlash that greeted his decision to accept the position of a media aide to the president, after harshly excoriating the Bola Tinubu-led government and working for the PDP.

Defending his action, the new presidential spokesperson said most of the attacks against him were sponsored by his detractors.

Speaking during the interview, Bwala said, “I am not the only subject of the decision of the President that touched on people, probably APC and the rest.

“You have practically interviewed me eight years before the election, consistently defending APC as an APC member. My credential is in your hand.

“I am not like a newcomer. I have only been away for like seven months but everything is ‘Bwala Bwala’. They have their reasons but some of those things are sponsored.”
