The 2024 Regional Convention of Jehovah’s witnesses, tagged “Declare The Good News” begins this weekend from Friday , November 15 to Sunday, November 17 at Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.
According to a release by the National spokesperson for the Jehovah’s witnesses in Nigeria, Mr. Olusegun Eroyemi, the 3-day program is designed to comfort and encourage the public amidst contemporary challenges faced by humans today.
“Everything has been put in place as regards the program to ensure that all in attendance will at the end of the three days be able to use good news to defeat bad news that is prevalent in the world today.”
A Bible drama portraying Jesus Christ’s Life and Teachings is one the main highlights of the convention.
On other attractions Eroyemi said,
“Each day has a one-hour and 20-minute lunch break, Bible based talks, interviews and video presentations.
Topics include: “What Will You Do for the Sake of the Good News”?,
“Why We Don’t Fear Bad News
“Hold Firmly to the Good News”—Why and How?
“The programme commences at 8:20 a.m. each day of the convention, closing at 3:50 p.m., except on Sunday, when it closes at 2:30 p.m.
“Everyone is invited to attend as everyone needs good news from God’s word on how to cope with mounting challenges today.
“Admission is fee and no collection will be taken,” Eroyemi said.
This week’s convention in Abuja will be held in English
He said same event is taking place this weekend in other 39 cities around Nigeria simultaneously.
The date and location for each convention, which began across Nigeria from 9th-11th August 2024, can be found on the Witnesses’ official website, jw.org.
“Apart from Nigeria, people are encouraged to attend the event in any country where they are . Jehovah’s Witnesses are found in over 240 lands and would be holding these conventions in halls and stadiums in these territories in over 500 languages.
“Interestingly, two other stadia will be used for same event at Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Igwuruta in Port Harcourt, River State, from December 8 , 2024 and also at Godswill Akpabio International Stadium located in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State between December 20 and 22”.
