Sanwo-Olu and other APC chieftains are in Akure, the Ondo State capital, for the grand finale of the ruling party’s campaign

Many All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftains have stormed Akure, the Ondo State capital, to support Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in Saturday’s governorship election.
This was disclosed by Lagos State Governor’s media aide, Gboyega Akosile, who said the APC bigwigs arrived in time for the party’s mega rally.
According to him, Governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Lagos, Dapo Abiodun, Ogun, Biodun Oyebanji, Ekiti, and the immediate past deputy governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu are part of those in the state for the grand finale of the ruling party’s campaign.
Posting on X, Akosile wrote, “Flash: Governors @jidesanwoolu, his Ogun State counterpart @DapoAbiodunCON, Ekiti State Governor @biodunaoyebanji, former Deputy Governor of Edo State @phillips Shuaibu, Lagos GAC members and leaders of the @OfficialAPCNg storm Akure for the party’s and Governor @LuckyAiyedatiwa’s mega rally ahead of Saturday’s Governorship election.”
Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP,) 2023 presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has warned against malpractice in Saturday’s governorship election in Ondo State.

He reminded the electoral umpire that the PDP would firmly stand against any form of rigging during Saturday’s poll.
Speaking via a statement issued by his media aide, Paul Ibe, Atiku said, “This is also a sound warning to all election management officials and volunteers that the PDP will stand firmly against any malpractice in the Ondo governorship election.
“When the tide is high, it becomes too big to rig. The people of Ondo State are known for their forthrightness, and this particular election calls for eternal vigilance.
“As leaders of the party, we shall provide all necessary support to ensure that the APC is not allowed to repress the wishes of the electorate in this election.”
APC candidate and incumbent governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, will on Saturday lock horns with other contestants in his quest to retain his seat.
Aiyedatiwa emerged as governor following the death of his former boss, Rotimi Akeredolu in 2023, his major challenger in the upcoming election is PDP candidate and former Deputy governor, Agboola Ajayi.
