Tinubu appoints Bianca Ojukwu, six others as ministers

Tinubu, prior to making these appointments, had relieved five ministers of their appointment with immediate effect

President Bola Tinubu has nominated seven new Ministers in a major restructuring aimed at improving the performance of his administration.

The appointments were announced on Wednesday in a statement issued by the Presidency after the Federal Executive Council meeting in Abuja.

Bianca, widow of late All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) chieftain, Emeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, was named the Minister of State, Foreign Affairs.

Also nominated is Jumoke Oduwole, who was appointed as the Minister of industry, Trade and Investment.

Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda was made Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, while Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi became the Minister of Labour & Employment minister.

Three other Nigerians, Idi Mukhtar Maiha, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata and Suwaiba Said Ahmad were also nominated as Minister of Livestock Development, Minister of State, Housing and Urban Development and Minister of State,  Education respectively.

Prior to these appointments, President Tinubu had relieved five ministers of their appointment with immediate effect.

The affected ministers included Barr. Uju-Ken Ohanenye Minister of Women Affairs, Lola Ade-John, Minister of Tourism, Prof Tahir Mamman, Minister of Education, Abdullahi Muhammad Gwarzo, Minister of State, Housing and Urban Development, and Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim, Minister of Youth Development.
