Cameroon President, Paul Biya has finally returned to his country after days of speculation about his whereabouts.
The president, who was earlier rumoured to be dead, arrived Cameroon via Yaounde’s international airport in the nation’s capital.
The 91-year-old was welcomed by a jubilant crowd as he shook hands with officials next to his wife, Chantal after the presidential plane landed.

Prior to this development, there were questions raised about Biya’s health and whereabouts following his disappearance from public view.
The president’s whereabouts were unknown after attending the China-Africa summit in Beijing at the beginning of September.
Announcing his arrival, a presenter with the state broadcaster CRTV said, “Today the president is on his way and this will put an end to all the speculation.”
Similarly, one billboard with a portrait of Biya on a blue background, read, “Welcome home, Mr President of the Republic.”
