NYG 2024: Madojiemu celebrates Treasure, Joshua, others for gold medal win at National Youth Games

Oympian and former quarter-miler Princess Mabel Madojiemu has praised AthIetes from her foundation that represented Edo State and won gold medals at the just concluded 2024 National Youth Games in Asaba .

Recall that Omoseivi Treasure won Gold in the high Jump female event while Joy Joshua also from Mabel Madojiemu athletics Stable won Gold in 4x100m mixed race and Silver in girls 4x100m.


Dominion Omorodion competed in 1500m and could not pick a medal as Caleb in 400m boys unfortunately, could not make it to the finals.

In a statement, Princess Madojiemu showered encomiums on the four AthIetes who she noted represented Edo State and her Club well as She emplored government through the Edo State Sports Commission to support their career by providing opportunities for more Competitions, and incentives for their education.

“I was very happy for their achievement at the at National Youth Games, it’s a thing of Joy for athletes from my foundation to win gold medals at such national youth competition. This would boost their morale and confidence in taking the sports further, I’m very proud of them,” said Madojiemu in a chat.

She also praised the technical director and coach of the AthIetes Oluwa Mutiu for paying attention to their training and welfare.


The coach informed that the AthIetes would be eligible for another Princess Mabel Madojiemu U-15 championship and NYG in 2025 as their age range falls within the acceptable age Bracket.

Princess Madojiemu has been a huge factor in the promotion of Grassroots AthIetics Championships among Schools In Edo State having organized three Editions already at prestigious Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin.
