Newly elected AKHIS Alumni president promises support for alma mater

The Akure High School 2001 Set Alumni (AKHIS) has elected Adewale Monebi as its new president.

The president is expected to serve for two years with other elected executive members of the association.

The election which was held last weekend has members both home and abroad participated.

Other new elected Exco members are; Busola Oluwasusi (nee Ogunlade) — Vice chairman, Iranlowo Akinroyeje — General Secretary, Bimbo Omotosho (nee Ajayi) — Treasurer, Tunde Salami Akibu — Public Relations Officer. Kike Boladale (nee Alade) — Welfare Officer and Ebenezer Duyilemi — Chief Whip

Monebi as the new President of AKHIS 2001 set marks a significant milestone for the alumni association and under his leadership, the association is poised to strengthen its engagement with the national body of the School Alumni

The Electoral Committee for the election include, Comrade Odunayo Adebowale-Ogunlade — Chairman. Comr. (Mrs) Seun Abiodun-Idowu — Secretary

Other members are. Comr. Fatai Adejoro, Comr. Omolara Onilearo-Ojo and Comr Ebenezer Ojo

In his acceptance speech, Adewale Monebi promised to bring development that will be in the best interest of the Alumni members and the School

He stated “I am honoured and grateful for the opportunity to serve our prestigious alumni alongside the association’s newly elected members and I thank the electoral committee for their excellent service.

“I want to sincerely appreciate our efforts and understanding towards the just concluded election exercises, As I accept the victory you gave to me and other elected excos, I want us to know that the victory for all.

“As long as you are part of this big family, we all came out victorious according to Electoral Chairman therefore don’t let us hold any grudges against one another.

“I want to implore us to embrace peace to reign among us as colleagues and one family,” Monebi maintained

Earlier, in his address, the Special Assistant the Secretary to the State Government on political matters, Ondo state, Hon. Adetunji Gbenga expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the electoral committee for conducting a free, fair, and transparent election process saying that their dedication and integrity have earned them the trust and admiration of the association.

“To the newly elected executives, I congratulate you all on your well-deserved victory. This outcome is a testament to the love and trust that the Alumni have placed in all of you. I charge you to work together harmoniously, leveraging your unique strengths to bring about meaningful human and physical developments to the 2001 set and Akure High School our alma mater.

“Moreover, I implore all the members of this platform to offer guidance and advice to the new executives when needed, ensuring a collaborative and supportive environment,” Gbenga added.

Also speaking, Engr. Stanley Titus encouraged the new executives to carry every member on board. “We look forward to your strong influence and cooperation in our group affairs for fruitful aims and objectives ahead of us all.

“We all are winners as I said earlier, Therefore ‘’both winners’’ are to work hand in hand without any negative mindset. Please I indulge both winners to bring success to all of us in this house” he said.
