Burna Boy refuses to endorse nationwide hunger protest, says ‘Fight in me died during EndSARS’

Burna Boy was reminiscing about the 2020 EndSARS protest, when protesters declined to have his songs played during their demonstration

Ace afrobeat singer, Damini Ogulu better known as Burna Boy, has rejects calls to back the nationwide hunger protest.

TheNiche had earlier reported that Nigerian, especially the youths on Thursday, August 1, commenced a 10-day nationwide protest against economic hardship.

Following the commencement of the protests which took place in most parts of the country, some of Burna Boy’s fans took to social media to call on Nigerian celebrities to lend their voices to the demonstration.

However, taking to his X page to react to the call, the ‘Twice As Tall’ crooner warned his fans not to involve him in the protest.

The Grammy winning artiste went on to tell the netizens that the fight in him died during the EndSARS protest on October 20, 2020.

Quoting a post he shared in 2020,  Burna Boy tweeted, “The fight in me died on this day. Ogun go doggy anybody wey call my name this time around. Even Jesus was crucified.”

The post which the singer first shared during the 2020 EndSARS protest, captured the moment protesters declined to have his songs played during their demonstration.

Meanwhile, another singer, Spyro, had earlier called for entertainment break nationwide, charging all celebrities to use their page to lend their voice to the ongoing demonstration
