Abia State Governor Alex Otti has removed his Chief Press Secretary (CPS), Kazie Uko.
Commissioner for Information and Culture, Okey Kanu, made this known on Wednesday after the State Executive Council Meeting chaired by the governor.
Otti has also approved the payment of school fees for Abia students studying in India who were abandoned by the previous administration, as well as approved the payment of school fees of those in Nigeria law schools in the country.
The Commissioner said, “Following Governor Alex Otti’s interest and the high premium he placed on students, the governor has graciously approved the payment of school fees of Abia students in India. He also approved the payment of school fees of 271 Abia students in Nigeria Law Schools,”

Kanu also disclosed that the state governor has also secured the accreditation of 19 programmes for the Abia State University Uturu, ABSU, stating also that the governor has directed the state Commissioner for Lands to quickly, within 48 hours process a Certificate of Occupancy, C-of-O for an Abian international footballer who is from Isuikwuato LGA, Frank Onyeka who has concluded plans to establish a football academy in the state.
Onyeka and his wife had visited the state governor with Daati Baba-Ahmed who was on hand to support the academy and pledged so, with the governor stating the willingness of his administration to support the academy that will be sited between Umuahia and Aba.
