Leicester City striker, Kelechi Iheanacho has promised that the Super Eagles will be ready for the game against South Africa despite the late arrival of some of his teammates.
He, however, admitted that the development is affecting the team’s preparation for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Bafana Bafana and the Squirrels.
Fifteen Super Eagles players trained for two days before they were later joined by five others on Tuesday morning.
The quintet of Semi Ajayi, Calvin Bassey, Frank Onyeka, Bright Osayi-Samuel and Paul Onuachu later arrived at the team’s camp on Tuesday afternoon.

Three more players, Alex Iwobi, Ademola Lookman and Maduka Okoye are still being expected in camp.
Speaking ahead of the encounter against South Africa, Iheanacho told TV News that it has been difficult for the team to have proper training sessions because of the late arrival of his colleagues.
He, however, assured that despite the setback, he and his teammates will be ready to take on South Africa on Friday.
He said: “Obviously we are not yet complete and we are missing a few players, it’s just a little bit of an impact in the training sessions.
“Some of the big sessions that we needed to do we couldn’t because we are not complete..
“It affects the training a little bit but we’ve got almost everybody today and we did a big session which is very, very important.
“Hopefully everyone will be around tomorrow for us to get the full length of the pitch and training that we need.
“Overall, we have been working really hard and training for a few days now so I think the coaches are doing a great job. We are really fit and ready to go.”
