Hours after Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo described the controversial Nigeria Air unveiling as a scam, Nigerians have said everyone involved in the alleged scam should be in the dock.
Already, the then Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika is being prosecuted by the federal government over an alleged dubious contract award to his family members for rehabilitation work of the Katsina Airport.
Sirika has however not been charged for any fraud regarding Nigeria Air launch which Keyamo described as a fraud.
Netizens say Sirika should not be alone in the dock when the case of Nigeria Air comes up since he worked under the supervision of then President Muhammadu Buhari.
Quoting a state house press release of 2019 when aviation minister Hadi Sirika conferred an award on Buhari for improving aviation security, activist Aisha Yesufu in a post on Twitter @AishaYedufu said: “Prosecuting Hadi Sirika without prosecuting Muhammadu Buhari is selective prosecution.”
@Godfreyanyanwu said: “Keyamo is running his mouth that Nigeria Air was fraudulent and therefore suspended, all of them in that FEC were complicit in approving and perpetuating the fraud of Nigeria Air and should all be prosecuted, Buhari included!!”
@odumodusly said: “They did the same with Emiefiele’s case. We have pictures of Buhari endorsing new naira notes policy, the printing saga and currency stability issues. Guess what? It’s only Emiefiele getting trial, Buhari is still chilling at home with his ‘integrity’ intact.”
@ruffydfire said, in reference to former Buhari’s social media aide Bashir Ahmad who denied the charge that Nigeria Air was not a fraud, said: “For those that supported the fraud called Nigeria Air, I am sure you now hear Keyamo call it a fraud.its shame, some will defend fraud just to be politically correct.kudos to David (Hundeyin) that alerted us about the fraud.”
@Harmless12345 said: “David Hundeyin took his time last year and uncovered the fraud called Nigeria Air. Exposed how the Ethiopian plane was repainted and sent to Abuja. But we called him enemy of Nigeria and hater of progress. Dear David Hundeyin, on behalf of the APC propaganda wing, I’m deeply sorry.”
