A Chieftain of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) and Senatorial Candidate in Ondo Central Senatorial District, Dr. Seun Majasan said on Thursday that he was set to dump the party for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Majasan however, endorsed Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa to become governor of Ondo state beyond 2025

Speaking with newsmen via WhatsApp in Akure, the state capital, he said his decision to dump the NNPP was because the party was rudderless and that it had been perpetually enmeshed in crisis.

According to him, he saw no future in the NNPP and that nobody should expect a politician of his stature to stay in a house where some leaders were only after their selfish interests most especially in Ondo state.

“I am done with NNPP, it’s high time I move with the winning party APC. I discovered that some people in NNPP are only after money and not the progress of the party in Ondo State.

“Let inform you here that I can not continue in a party that is being run like a family business, dictatorship business, right from the National to the State. I am not a Kwankwasiyya and can never be. I didn’t join NNPP because of Kwankwaso. He actually met me at the party.

“We don’t have leaders in NNPP anymore, and you don’t expect me to stay in a party that is not stable and with people that lack focus.

“I thank all my tested and trusted followers and supporters, and I believe anywhere I go, they go with me. We are now in the winning team, which means winning is inevitable for us”, Majasan noted.

The Senatorial Candidate said that he was also joining APC because he is convinced that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa will win the APC ticket as the flagbearer and also the governorship election comes November 25, 2024.
