Arteta made this known ahead of Arsenal’s crucial Sunday Premier League match against Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium

Arsenal boss, Mikel Arteta, has applauded the decision of Swedish Referee, Glenn Nyberg, not to award a penalty for Gabriel Magalhaes’ controversial handball incident in the UEFA Champions League (UCL) quarter-Final clash against Bayern Munich on Tuesday, saying he used “common sense”.
The Gunners goalkeeper, David Raya had during the second half of the consequential match, passed the ball to Gabriel, who then handled the ball in the 18-yard box, seemingly unaware that the game was in play.
Nyberg then looked away and let the game continue amid angry protests from Bayern players.
The highly entertaining first leg match eventually ended 2-2 with Arsenal billed to visit Germany for the return fixture on Wednesday, April 17.
After the encounter, Bayern manager, Thomas Tuchel, said Nyberg admitted to letting the incident slide because it was a “kid’s mistake”.

Speaking on the controversy ahead of Sunday’s Premier League match against Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium, Arteta said be believed the referee did the right thing.
The Spanish tactician said: “Yes, I did notice it, especially after there was a certain reaction from them (Bayern players).
“I think the referees used the law. The law says to use common sense and whether you take an advantage from that situation, which there isn’t an advantage.”
