Bobkrisky (real name Idris Okuneye) has been arrested and detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), not for his cross-dressing or controversial views, but for abusing naira notes, spraying and mutilating them.
He was arrested on Wednesday night and has since been detained and will be charged to court, according to EFCC spokesman Dele Oyewale.
“Bobrisky is with us. He was arrested last night in Lagos, and he is at our Lagos command. We arrested him for alleged abuse of naira notes, spraying of naira notes, and currency mutilation, among others,” Oyewale said.
“We are very serious about restoring the dignity of the naira. Though our investigation is still ongoing, but he will definitely be charged to court soon.”
