Coca-Cola Nigeria Plc has honoured the highest distributor of its products in South East and South South regions, Aja Uwa.
Uwa, a lecturer at the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) and senior legislative aide to the newly-elected senator representing Ebonyi South, Senator Prof Anthony Ani, was celebrated at a ceremony held on February 23 in Owerri, Imo State for his outstanding performance in the sale of the company’s products.
Speaking at the event, the company’s commercial manager of Owerri commercial territory, Chidozie Okoro, stated that Uwa’s performance impacted immensely on the fortunes of the company.
According to him, “Aja delivered a record distribution feat of 1.2 million of the company physical cases of products which included bottles, cartons and other packs within the year 2023.
“His total performance of over 1.2 million cases,” Okoro explained, “attracted a revenue of about N2 billion in turnover to the company. It’s such performance that earns him what he is enjoying today.”
Okoro said Uwa started his business with the company in 2015 as a one-way pack dealer, meaning he was not allowed to sell the bottled products of the company as a one-line dealer.
But within five years of doing business with the company, Okoro noted, he became a mega distribution partner of the company in 2020. Okoro further explained, saying, ” Today, Dr. Aja Uwa is the number one distributor in the eastern region comprising states like Imo, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Bayelsa, part of Anambra, Enugu and Ebonyi.”
This feat, Okoro remarked, has been maintained steadily by Uwa since the past three years till date.

Uwa has also maintained the number one role in the Atlanta promo which allows the leading distributor to travel to Atlanta, United States with all expenses sponsored by the company to visit the operational headquarters of Coca-Cola for over a week.
Also, Uwa, Okoro narrated, could win the ticket to Anfield to watch Liverpool FC matches live, fully sponsored by the company, as he remains till date the highest distributor of the company’s energy drinks.
For all these feats, Okoro explained, the company’s council of elders resolved to induct him into the prestigious club of kings.
Uwa said this is the first time such eminent body in the company would be taking a decision of this nature.
Traditional Ruler of Umuanunu Autonomous community in Obinze, Imo State, Geoffrey Ejimogu, was invited to perform the coronation rites on Uwa.
To the admiration of his colleagues from FUTO, friends from the Senate wing of the National Assembly, staff and customers of Coca-Cola brands, Uwa was crowned Chimerem Eze 1 of Coca-Cola in Nigeria.
In his response after the coronation, Uwa expressed surprises for the huge recognition saying, “I least expected that my humble inputs would deserve this magnitude of attention.”
He however promised to double his efforts going forward.
