Tinubu’s Lagos up in another protest, the third time in 2 months

A third protest in two months erupted in Lagos on Monday over growing hunger caused in part by the skyrocketing cost of living whereby the prices of food items and other goods rise daily.

The third Lagos protest since December 2023 took place despite police warning, as President Bola Tinubu scrambles to quell escalation of the dire situation that has sparked rumour of a coup – about which the army has issued a denial and threatened legal action against the rumour mongers.

A video posted on X shows members of a human rights group called “Take It Back Movement” with placards of various inscriptions in the Ojuelegba area of the Lagos metropolis.

Police officers are at the protest to ward off violence, especially by rented thugs who may hijack the grievance to cause mayhem that would attract police brutality.

Lagos Police Commissioner Adegoke Fayoade on Sunday warned against protest in any part of Lagos, the home state of Tinubu that he failed to win in the election last year.

This is breaking news. Details later….
