‘There is a big trouble in the land,’ cleric tells Tinubu during sermon at Akeredolu’s burial

The Archbishop of Ikwerre, Most Rev’d Dr Blessing Enyindah of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) has urged President Bola Tinubu to act fast and alleviate the untold hardship being faced by Nigerians.

Enyindah made the plea in his sermon at the burial service of late Arrakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, former Governor of Ondo State at Saint Andrews Cathedral Church Imola, Owo in Ondo state.

His words: “There is trouble everywhere in Nigeria. May I on behalf of Nigerians pray and call on the President, Senator Bola Tinubu to do something to reduce the hardship faced by Nigerians.

“Time is running fast. We have the hope he would do it because he promised us renewed hope and according to him, it is his turn, so the turn and opportunity have been given to him now. We are waiting and expecting the fulfilment of the renewed hope.

“We plead with him to do something fast because time, that is four or eight years as the case may be, is brief and the time is running.

“The hardship we are facing in Nigeria is unbearable, there is big trouble in the land. There is diseases, insecurity, hunger, killing, kidnapping, ritual and so on.

“We move from one trouble to another. Pls, help us, Mr. President to do something. We appreciate your efforts, but we need now is quick solution to the present hardship in the country,” he said

Aiyedatiwa, Shettima

The Vice president Kashim Shettima who represented the president is leading others, including Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, Akeredolu’s wife, Mrs Betty Anyanwu Akeredolu and children, Ekiti state governor Biodun Oyebanji, Edo state governor Mr Goodwin Obaseki, former governor of Ondo state Dr Olusẹgun Mimiko, former governor of Ogun State Mr Gbenga Daniel and senator Ibikunle Amosun, former Ekiti state governor Kayode Fayemi, APC national chairman Dr Ganduje, wife of late Prophet Temitope Joshua, Pastor Evelyn Joshua, political appointees, bodies of benchers, etc.

The clergyman who read from James 4 versus 14 admonished Nigerians to remember that their lives on earth is very short saying that they should live an impactful lives.

“The eyes of God is watching you about what you are doing, one day, you will account for what you have done in this world.

“What are you doing or how are you living your lives, are you impacting on the people positively. How are you spending your life in this earth. What value or impact are you making on the people around you?

“If you are fortunate, you can make it to 70 years on this earth or more, but the most important thing is how you spend your life on this earth.

“I know Governor Akeredolu will be missed by so many people, even his wife, children and family will miss him. He has done his part and has left the stage. Good to know that he performed credibly well when he was the Governor of Ondo State,” he added.
