Adebayo Adelabu to inaugurate Powerelec Nigerian Trade Fair and Conference 2024

Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, will on Tuesday, February 20 inaugurate the 2024 edition of Powerelec Nigeria, the annual trade fair and conference for solar, renewable and electrical industry.
The theme of the three-day event is “Vision to Action; Pioneering Sustainable Power Solutions for Economic Growth in Africa.”
The flagship event which is being organised by Verifair, a global leader in renewable energy business in conjunction and managed locally by Quints Entertainments Limited, a Lagos-based experiential marketing agency, will be held at the Landmark Events Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The energy show is reputed to be the largest gathering of energy professionals in West Africa and will feature 150 brands, 50 top domain expert speakers and 7000 energy enthusiasts from around the world.
The power-packed business to business event will bring together a plethora of high-profile stakeholders from the electricity distribution companies (discos), transmissions, and generating companies (gencos), solar, wind, renewables and electrical industry to Lagos to facilitate sustainable energy solutions for Nigeria and beyond.
The event would provide an opportunity for the who is who from the energy segment to meet, interact and learn from each other.

The minister is expected to outline the energy security plans (Vision 2030) by the government and how the discos, solar, and renewable power are boosting the Nigerian energy sector.
The C-suite of the solar industry, representing the best in Nigeria’s solar power market, has also confirmed attendance to this event.
Six-panel discussions are planned, day two will be facilitated by the Africa Solar industry Association (AFSIA) and is specifically intended to discuss opportunities and trends in the solar industry
The topic of discussion in the first panel will be “How the Discos are reshaping the future of Energy in Nigeria”.
The significance of public-private partnership (PPPs) will delve into the perspectives of generation, transmission, and distribution as well as how the industry can collaborate to realise the potential of renewable energy in advancing Nigeria’s Vision 2030.
There will be discussions on energy security; opportunities for stand-alone solar (mini-grids), and storage solutions, post diesel subsidy removal.
The panel will also re-examine the issue of harnessing innovation, insights from Nigeria’s emergence as a mini-grid champion and sun-powered success, the reason many enterprises are turning to solar.
