Soludo extends solidarity to Super Eagles despite AFCON finals loss

Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo has expressed his solidarity to the Super Eagles of Nigeria following their loss in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals held in Abidjan, Ivory Coast on Sunday.

While Nigeria narrowly missed clinching the AFCON trophy after a hard-fought final match against the host nation, Ivory Coast, Soludo stressed the immense pride and admiration felt for the team’s efforts throughout the tournament.

Soludo commended the Super Eagles for their remarkable journey in the AFCON competition, showcasing determination, and resilience on the field.

He said in a statement on Monday by his press secretary, Christian Aburime: “Despite the outcome of the final match, the team’s passion and dedication to representing Nigeria with honour and pride have not gone unnoticed.

Sharing the disappointment felt by the Super Eagles and all Nigerians following the defeat in the final match, Soludo urged them to take pride in their accomplishments and to remain steadfast in their pursuit of excellence.

The governor appreciated the support of the Federal Government, the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), coaching staff, and supporters for their untiring support and encouragement throughout the tournament.

He emphasised the importance of unity and resilience in overcoming setbacks and building towards future success.
