AFCON: Crisis engulf Angolan camp, star player returns to club in Portugal

-

Barely four days to the quarter-final match against Nigeria, all is not well in the camp of Angola.

The Palancas Negras reached the quarter-final of the competition for the first time in their history after a 3-0 win over Namibia on Saturday.

According to the update from the team camp in Abidjan, star player Ben Mukendi on Monday decided to dump the team and return to his club in Portugal.

Mukendi was one of the top players for the country during the qualifier but he has been unable to secure a regular playing time in the competition.

The situation seems not to go down well with him and he has decided to return to his Portuguese club Casa Pia.
