Bandits get more daring, abduct 23 residents of FCT

Bandits according to reports have adducted several residents of satellite towns in the FCT in the last few weeks

About 23 residents of Kawu community in Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja were  reportedly kidnapped by bandits on Thursday.

The development was confirmed by the Councilor representing the area, Abdulmumini Zakari, who revealed that the gunmen stormed the community from the Kuyeri Forest in Kaduna State.

He added that the bandits divided themselves into groups and that some went into the palace of the district head, Alhaji Abdurrahman Danjuma Ali, where they abducted his son, Lukman, and his wife.

Zakari also said another group abducted the former PDP chairman of Kawu ward along with his four children and the Marafa of Kawu.

“Others attacked the compound of Alhaji Alhassan Sidi Kawu, the Marafa of Kawu and a former PDP Chairman of Kawu Ward,” he said.

He went on to say the bandits thereafter went into the compound of Sarkin Pawan Kawu, Gambo Pawa, and abducted him, alongside his two wives and children.

The kidnap was later confirmed by the FCT Police Command spokeswoman, SP Josephine Adeh.

Prior to this, there were reports that several residents of satellite towns in the FCT have been abducted by bandits in the last few weeks.
