Davido denied that Sosoberokon, who allegedly signed the contract on his behalf, was his authorised agent

Ace Afrobeats singer and record label owner, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido has contested the N2.3 billion breach of contract suit filed against him by former Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) President, Amaju Pinnick.
TheNiche had earlier reported that the ex-NFF boss and chairman of Brownhill Investments Company Limited recently took to social media to accuse the singer of failing to turn up at an event in Delta State after receiving a payment of $94,500.
Pinnick then filed a lawsuit through his lawyers on October 31, alleging that Davido breached a contract to perform at the 19th edition of the ‘Warri Again’ concert on October 6.

Responding to the suit during the hearing, Davido through his legal team led by Norrison Quakers (SAN), challenged the jurisdiction of the Delta State High Court in Effurun to entertain the matter.
The ‘Electricity crooner’ went on to argue that the case should be treated as a debt recovery, noting that Pinnick should have issued a demand letter before the legal action.
Also, Davido denied that Sosoberokon, who signed the contract on his behalf, was his authorised agent.
He further disputed Pinnick’s claim that the payment was for a performance rather than promotional services.
The court, however, adjourned to 14th December 2023 to rule on the preliminary objections filed in both cases.
