Sixty-two-year-old Nigerian singer, Salawa Abeni, has seized the occasion of the retirement of her third husband, Rasheed Adahunse, to unveil him.
Adahunse, recently retired as the comptroller and commandant of the Customs Training College and celebrated his exit with a birthday party held in Lagos over the weekend.
Speaking at the event, Salawa Abeni hailed the former customs officer, noting that despite their different backgrounds, they were still able to fall in love.

She said: “I don’t have many words to utter other than to thank God. I will just say a bit about my dearest husband.
“You have retired but not tired, as God joined us together as husband and wife four years ago, I pray you will live long and have abundance.
“You saw me as a musician and I saw you then as a complete ‘English’ man, but love conquered all. I have not chosen wrongly.”
Salawa Abeni went on to share a video of her performance at the event on her Instagram page, as she once again congratulated her husband on his retirement and birthday celebrations.
Taking to her social media page, she wrote, “Congratulations on your retirement and birthday celebration, comptroller Rasheed Agbolade Adahunse.”
The couple reportedly tied the knot four years ago.
