Fisher cooked for 119 hours 57 minutes, surpassing the previous record of 93 hours 11 minutes set by Hilda Baci

Nigerian celebrity chef, Hilda Bassey popularly known as Hilda Baci has reacted to reports that an Irish chef, Alan Fisher, broke two Guinness World Records (GWR) for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.
TheNiche had earlier reported that barely five months after GWR confirmed Hilda Baci as the record holder for the longest cooking by an individual, Fisher, a restaurant owner based in Japan, broke her record.
To achieve the feat, he cooked continuously for 119 hours 57 minutes, surpassing the previous record of 93 hours 11 minutes set by Hilda Baci earlier this year.
Fisher also broke the record for the longest baking marathon, baking for 47 hours and 21 minutes, beating the prior record of 31 hours and 16 minutes.

Confirming this on Tuesday, GWR via its X handle ( formerly Twitter) wrote: “Nigerian cooking queen Hilda Baci has been dethroned. Alan Fisher from Ireland cooked for an incredible 119 hours and 57 minutes at his restaurant in Japan.”
Reacting to the news, Hilda Baci, took to her X page, to congratulate the European.
She tweeted: ”Huge congratulations to Alan Fisher! 119hrs 57mins is a huge achievement, and I wish him all the best as the new world record holder.”
On June 13, GWR confirmed Hilda Baci as the record holder for the longest cooking by an individual.
Announcing the feat via its website, the GWR wrote: “Following a thorough review of all the evidence, Guinness World Records can now confirm that Hilda Effiong Bassey, better known as Hilda Baci, has officially broken the record for the longest cooking marathon (individual), with a time of 93 hours 11 minutes.”
