Popular Nigerian crossdresser and social media influencer, Idris Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky, has backed the decision of the government to arrest gay suspects in Delta State.

TheNiche earlier reported that the Delta State Police Command, on Tuesday, announced the arrest of over 100 gay suspects.

They had allegedly gathered at a hotel in the state to carry out the gay wedding ceremony, when they were apprehended.

In a post on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, the state police command promised to parade the suspects.

The post read: “Delta State Command has arrested over a hundred gay suspects in a hotel carrying out a gay wedding ceremony. We will be going live shortly on Facebook to parade the said suspects.”

Reacting to the development via his Instagram page, Bobrisky claimed that many people had sought his opinion on the arrest.

He went on to say they deserved to be arrested because there’s an existing law prohibiting men from marrying each other in Nigeria.

He further urged gays in Nigeria who intend to tie the knot to relocate to other places where such is acceptable.

Taking to his social media page, Bobrisky wrote: “Hey guys, I want to quickly address those set of guys who were arrested in Delta. You see this class is not actually meant for everyone. But I strongly believe you can learn from those Alist.

“Firstly, there’s a law passed against you guys that you can’t marry yourself in this country. Why the hell did you all call yourself together to organize a wedding? You all deserve how you were treated,” he said.

“If you feel you are in love with your partner and you want to be together why not relocate to where you are welcome?”
