United States President, Joe Biden has said he cannot vouch that Russian President, Vladimir Putin knew nothing about the death of the leader of the Wagner Group, Yevgeny Prigozhin, because “little happens in Russia without his knowledge”

Biden made this known yesterday while reacting to the news of Prigozhin’s death on popular US cable network, CNN.

TheNiche had earlier reported that the controversial chief of Russian mercenary group was killed in a plane crash on Wednesday.

The aircraft, a business jet, crashed in the Tver region northwest of Moscow, with 10 people onboard.

While Russian officials said that Prigozhin was on the passenger list, it was not immediately clear if he was actually in the aircraft.

However, Russia’s Agency for Air Transport later claimed that he was among the passengers of a flight that crashed and burst into flames and that all 10 passengers aboard the plane died.

Speaking with CNN on the development, Biden said: “You may recall, I was asked about this.”

“I said I would be careful what I rode in. I don’t know for a fact what happened, but I’m not surprised,” CNN quoted Biden as saying.

The US president added that there is “not much that happens in Russia that Putin is not behind but I don’t know enough to know the answer.”
