Obi cautions his supporters against spoilers and thieves pretending as leaders

Peter Obi has cautioned his supporters against propaganda and planted stories in the media about him and the Labour Party (LP), saying they are rumours meant to distract Nigerians from taking back their country from spoilers and thieves grandstanding as leaders.
Obi bared his mind on Monday at the LP rally in Benin City preparatory to the local government election in Edo.
He was reacting to a “false” report earlier in the day claiming he and the LP were holding merger talks with Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) to take power from the All Progressives Congress (APC) of President Bola Tinubu.
Obi gave an assurance to LP members and supporters of his commitment to the continuous growth of the party with plans for it to continue to grow stronger and better in the midst of detractors.
He also pledged the commitment of the LP leadership to building a better and stronger Nigeria if given the opportunity to hold the reins of power.

Nigerians tired of promise-and-fail by leaders
“Labour Party will continue to grow. We will continue to go stronger (and) better. Half of the things you are hearing everywhere are rumours, don’t listen to them.
“We are committed to building a better and a new Nigeria where we will move Nigeria from consumption to production,” Obi stressed, according to The PUNCH.
He urged LP members contesting council elections in Edo to fulfil all campaign promises if elected.
“Those of you who are contesting, go and tell the people what you will do and whatever you say, if you succeed, do it.
“No more promise-and-fail. The time for fake promises has passed in this country; we don’t want anybody to promise us fake things now. Anything you promise you must deliver.”
