All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and senator representing Edo North Senatorial District, Adams Oshiomhole, has advised embattled Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, to respect his principal, Godwin Obaseki.

He made this known on Thursday while speaking on the allegation made by the state governor, Obaseki, that his deputy’s decision to approach an Abuja High court was a prelude to his defection to the APC.

The former Edo State Governor during the speech told Shuaibu that APC is not an Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp for rehabilitating distressed politicians.

He further advised him to tow the part of reconciliation because he wants Edo State to be governed in peace and harmony.

Oshiomhole said: “But let me say this, to say that somebody wants to run to the APC, I want to say that the APC is not a rehabilitation centre. I can tell you that for free.

“We in APC are satisfied the way we are; we are happy in opposition and we are not about to receive people who are coming because they have lost out. I want to say that there is no IDP camp in APC.

“So my advice is that those who are having challenges should learn how to respect their bosses. I have always advised people that whoever you work with, be loyal,”

Oshiomhole’s statement came after Edo Deputy Governor approached a Federal High Court in Abuja, seeking protection from possible impeachment and removal from office by Governor Obaseki.

Shuaibu is seeking an interlocutory injunction to stop harassment, intimidation, or embarrassment, and to allow him to carry out his duties.

Prior to the development, several media outlets reported that the relationship between Shaibu and Obaseki has gone south in recent months.
