Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf has put an end to speculations that he is planning to reinstate the deposed Emir of Kano Muhammadu Sanusi and remove Emir Aminu Bayero.

It was widely rumoured on Monday that the governor planned to bring back Sanusi after a photo of Sanusi was hung in the coronation hall at the government house.

According to him, “The history of the coronation hall is synonymous to the 14th Emir of Kano, Sanusi because it was built for his presentation of staff of office shortly after he was crowned as the Emir succeeding the late Alhaji Ado Bayero in 2014 during the administration of Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

“So traditionally, his picture shall remain there forever.

“Bringing back the picture of the 14th Emir is part of the ongoing rehabilitation to give the coronation hall a facelift,” he further clarified.

The immediate past Kano State governor Abdullahi Gabduje deposed Emir Sanusi and created four emirate councils bringing the total number of emirates to five.

The four emirate councils are Rano, Karaye, Bichi and Gaya. The Emir of Kano, Aminu Bayero, is the chairman of the Councils of Emirs.
