Former governor of Ogun State, Gbenga Daniel, has instructed the incumbent governor, Dapo Abiodun to halt the payment of his monthly pension and allowances with immediate effect.
Daniel gave the directive in a recent letter addressed to the governor and titled, ‘Request To Suspend My Monthly Pension and Allowances
The senator representing Ogun East, in the letter, said the N676,376.95 pension/allowances he is entitled to as an ex-governor should be suspended in compliance with his conscience, moral principle and ethical code against double emoluments.
According to him, the code expects a serving Senator, who hitherto was a former governor to forfeit such entitlement while he or she remains a legislator.
