Cost of governance: Tinubu’s convoy of over 100 vehicles sparks reactions

A video showing the vehicles in the convoy of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu consisting of over 100 vehicles, has sparked reactions on social media.
Tinubu arrived Lagos yesterday to celebrate Eid-el-Kabir after a week tour of France and London.
The convoy of vehicles cited by TheNiche that followed the President from the Airport in Ikeja to his Bourdillon home in Ikoyi, were not less than 111 vehicles.
In the convoy of Tinubu was Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Adviser, Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to the President, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Fashola, a former Lagos State Governor among other top government functionaries.
The more than 100 vehicles in Tinubu’s convoy has sparked debate on social media on the cost of governance.

@InibeheEffiong tweeted: “Mr. Bola Tinubu’s convoy in Lagos is another reminder that the political class is not ready to make the sacrifices which they expect from citizens. A nation that has a devastating debt burden shouldn’t be run this way. Those defending the monstrous convoy don’t wish Nigeria well.”
@Shehusky said: “Tomorrow Tinubu will tell you there’s no money to fund education. But there’s enough money to lavish on unnecessary convoy of cars whenever he’s going out.”
@NEVERSONVILE said: “This is crazy…… If Tinubu is paying for fueling the convoy from his salary as the president, he will reduce the vehicles to just 3 or 5….. He sud start the sacrifice by fueling his vehicles from his personal wealth and salary.”
