Real Warri Pikin links her comedy to her suicide attempts

Real Warri Pikin, during a recent chat, claimed her jokes at a point in her career were to motivate people who are suicidal

Popular comedienne and comic actress, Anita Alaire Afoke Asuoha better known as Real Warri Pikin, has revealed cracking jokes helped her heal after several suicide attempts. 

The mother of three made this known during a recent interview with media personality, Chude Jideonwo, where she claimed her jokes at the time were to motivate other people who were going through similar challenges.

According to her, while she was making jokes, she was able to get over the trauma she had because she owed a lot of debts.

Narrating her ordeal during the chat, she said: “All the videos wey I dey do that time, no be comedy to make people laugh o, na to motivate people say, Area! Even though you dey owe debt, no worry, Federal government dey owe debt. No kill yourself. Take one step at a time. Problems must come.

“I think those things helped me heal like things wey I supposed to myself I go come dey tell [others]. Then I never pay the debt finish o. I go still go cry, come do video.

“Maybe God made me went through what I went through because [He wanted me to be here].” (sic)

Real Warri Pikin went on to tell the show host and netizens during the interview, that she has received testimonies on how her motivational talks stopped others from committing suicide.

Prior to this development, the Delta State-born thespian had disclosed that she contemplated suicide several times between 2017 and 2018 because of a debt she and her husband, Ikechukwu owed.
