Omokri calls Peter Obi’s legal team an embarrassment

Omokri argued that with what he has seen so far from Obi’s legal team, their petition is unlikely to yield a positive result

Reno Omokri, former media aide to ex-president Goodluck Jonathan and social media influencer, has gone online to mock the legal team of Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, describing their conduct at the Election Petition Tribunal as an ’embarrassment’.

Obi through his lawyers had on Friday presented additional witnesses to the Tribunal to prove President Bola Ahmed Tinubu did not win the 25th February presidential election.

Reacting to the development via his Twitter handle on Saturday, Omokri, who is a staunch supporter of Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, criticised the witnesses and evidence Obi’s legal team brought before the Tribunal.

According to him, the counsels made ‘schoolboy errors’ by blundering their schedule of documents and then asking for more time.

He went on to argue that with what he has seen so far from the Obi’s legal team, their petition is unlikely to yield a positive result.

Speaking via his social media page, Omokri wrote: “Peter Obi’s legal team and their witnesses at the Presidential Election Petition Court are simply an embarrassment.

“It was a man boasting that he had all his evidence and witnesses. And look at the type of witnesses they are producing. A mathematics professor blamed his inability to prove that Peter Obi won the #NigerianElections2023 on lack of time.

“Another, Lawrence Nwakaeti, got confused in court. Lawyers who make schoolboy errors by blundering their schedule of documents and then asking for more time. It is not looking good for Peter Obi. Not looking good at all”, he wrote.
