Ex-Wales winger and former Real Madrid forward, Gareth Bale, has told La Liga officials to take conscious and serious actions that will help to stop racism in the Spanish league.

TheNiche reported that Brazil international, Vinicius Jr lashed out at La Liga and ‘racists’ in Spain after he was subjected to racist chants from the stands during his team’s 1-0 loss against Valencia.

The incensed 22-year-old, after the incident, took to Twitter to vent his frustration and brand Spain a ‘country of racists’.

He wrote: “It wasn’t the first time, nor the second, nor the third. Racism is normal in La Liga.

“The competition thinks it’s normal, the Federation does too and the opponents encourage it. I’m so sorry.

“The championship that once belonged to Ronaldinho, Ronaldo [Nazario], Cristiano [Ronaldo] and [Lionel] Messi, today belongs to racists. A beautiful nation, which welcomed me and which I love, but which agreed to export the image of a racist country to the world”
