Abdulrazaq won a total of 273,424 votes while his closest rival, Shuaib Abdullahi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), polled 155, 490 votes.

Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has been re-elected by the people of the state to serve a second term in office.
He won the mandate at the governorship election held on Saturday where he contested as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The result of the election was announced on Sunday by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) at the commission’s office in Ilorin.
Abdulrazaq won a total of 273,424 votes as against his closest rival, Shuaib Abdullahi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 155, 490 votes while Akeem Lawal of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) scored 18,922.
The APC’s candidate won in each of the 16 local government areas of the state while his PDP opponent emerged second in the local government areas.
INEC Returning officer for the election, Professor Isaac Itodo, Vice Chancellor of the University of Markurdi, Benue State, declared the result.
The breakdown of the result in each of the local governments is as follows:
