Ex-Arsenal goalkeeper, Bernd Leno has claimed he does not have ‘toxic feelings’ towards the north London club despite selling him in the summer.

The German who still plies his trade in London with Fulham also predicted the English Premier League (EPL) team that is likely to win the league trophy this season.

Leno, prior to moving from north to west of London, was Arsenal’s number one goalkeeper, but things changed when Gunners boss, Mikel Arteta elevated Aaron Ramsdale to the first position.

However, despite that, Leno is still backing his former club to win the 2022-23 English Premier League trophy.

Speaking with Evening Standard, the German also said he has no ill feelings toward Arsenal despite selling him to Fulham in the summer.

He said: “I don’t have toxic [feelings] or bad energy for Arsenal.”

Asked if he felt Mikel Arteta’s men would eventually win their first top-flight trophy since 2004, Leno added: “I hope they do it, I think they can.”

Leno, whose side narrowly lost 3-2  against another London club, Brentford on Monday night, will be in goal when Arsenal visit Fulham on Sunday.

The Gunners who are currently five points ahead of second-placed Manchester City, will at least maintain the same gap if they can beat Fulham regardless of what the champions do.
