Kaduna train attack hostage wins seat for PDP

Sadiq Ango-Abdullahi, one of the freed hostages of the Abuja-Kaduna train attack, has been declared winner of the Sabon Gari Federal Constituency in Kaduna with 33,616 votes on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Returning Officer Hashim Suleiman of the Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria announced the result in Zaria.
He announced Ango-Abdullahi defeated a four-term House of Representatives member Garba-Datti Mohammed of the All Progressive Congress (APC) who got 31,737 votes, per Vanguard.
Sources said Sadiq is the son of Professor Ango Abdullahi and the late Aisha Alhassan, former Women Affairs Minister, fondly called “Mama Taraba”.

Okada riders rejoice in Kaduna as LP candidate defeats Reps Minority Chief Whip
Motorcycle taxi (Okada) operators jubilated in Southern Kaduna when their former colleague, Donatus Matthew, of the LP defeated House of Representatives Minority Chief Whip Gideon Gwani of the PDP.
Matthew received 10,508 votes against 10,297 won by Gwani, a four-term lawmaker representing Kaura Federal Constituency.
Mathew thanked the electorate for the confidence reposed in him to represent them and solicited for their support and cooperation.
He also promised to carry everyone along to achieve success.
Mathew, according to sources, was once a Councillor and commercial motorcyclist.
Labour Party wins Edo South senatorial seat
In Edo, Labour Party candidate for Edo South Senatorial District, Neda Imasuen, was declared winner on Monday by the INEC.
Returning Officer A. Obasuyi announced Imasuen scored 167,250 votes to defeat All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, who received 61,749 votes, and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate who scored 57,933.
LP candidate for Oredo federal constituency, Iyawe Eseosa, also beat both the APC and PDP candidates.
