Labour Party officially ends presidential campaign

The Labour Party’s Presidential Campaign Council (LP) has announced that in line with the Electoral Act it would end its presidential campaign by 11:59 pm on Thursday.

The Act stipulates that all political campaigns are to end 24 hours prior to the Election Day.

Director General of the LP National Campaign Council, Akin Osuntokun, in a statement he personally signed urged supporters of the party to abide by the Act.

The statement read, “The Labour Party Presidential Campaign Council, PCC, wishes to announce the end of the Presidential campaigns by midnight of Thursday 23, February 2023 in line with the Electoral Act.

“We, therefore wish to advise all obidient supporters, particularly those wishing to place advertorials of any kind in any media outlets (Electronic, Print, social media) to note this legal inhibition and be compliant. Labour Party or the Campaign Council will not be responsible for any such placement as media houses are advised to note this directive.

“We wish to also use this opportunity to appreciate and thank all our numerous supporters who contributed immensely in one way or the other to the success of the campaigns to take back Nigeria.”
